Allthough this page is called rotation, it is more about shot prio's, cooldown use and how to open/end fights. Because no fight is the same you will allways be using a form of shot prio mid fight, however most openings are the same.
Pre-Pull
PULL
After the pull
Ok let's explain a bit what we see above in the graphics. First thing you notice is i have divided the openning in 3 seperate groups; pre-pull/pull/after pull, all for good reason ofcourse and let me explain why.
-
Pre-pull
Ofcourse allways have your hunter's mark on target to start with and make sure your MD is up, then just before the pull you 'pre-pot' the potion of speed to activate the cooldown on it.
-
Pull
Pretty much during the pull you can use 3 cooldowns that have no gcd; Rapid fire, Call of the Wild and i added the engineers haste proc on gloves.
-
After the pull
Now we really start shooting, keep in mind we are still in first second of the fight or this should atleast be your aim to be that fast with or without keybinds! First shot is Aimed shot combined with some none gcd abilities silencing shot/rabid/kill command. We do this so by now we will have a good chance on our trinkets etc. having procced and thus making serpent sting optimal. On to Serpent sting and chimera shot for obvious reasons. Readiness so you can do MD and Chimera again(Because readiness resets the cooldown on chimera i allways have this macro'ed into my chimera and killshot) usually during the steady shots i use the kill command and silencing shot as the have both been reset as well. the opener ends with 3 steady shots so that we can continue with most our shots off cooldown again.
Continuation
-
Continuation
Continuing after the opener you will use your rapid fire because it has been reset by readiness. there is a good reason to use multi-shot next, mainly because the earlier steady shots most likely will have procced the improved steady shot.
As you can read above, improved steady shot will increase the damage of aimed shot or chimera shot. here is where the rotation ends and shot prio takes over!
IF chimera is available you will just use chimera before using aimed shot so that the bonus goes to your best shot.
IF chimera is not available or you are facing adds anyways you use multi-shot.
IF you didnt proc the imp. steady shot you use aimed shot and then chimera (can also choose to get another steady shot in to proc it).
From here on out you will prioritize your shots but more or less will keep the same rotation going and work with your cooldowns.
Ender
-
Ender
When the boss is at 20% health you can start doing the perfect end-fight burst by using your readiness to the max! (if you have a few seconds left on rapid fire you can hold this ender of a bit)
Kill shot is a massive shot and great way to burst the last part of the fight, combined with the rapid fire and chimera follow up it will deal massive damage. Use your readiness to reset all 3 of these goodies and basically repeat the punishment! Keep in mind that you have also reset kill command and silencing shot so feel free to use them. Rapid fire whenever it runs out and keep using kill shot as prio.
Note: "but but what about arcane shot?" yes yes i know arcane shot has been a long trusted friend during leveling and it's so nice and instant.. but as a MM hunter the arcane shot does not benefit from arp and because of that becomes not worth the mana you spend. There is only 1 reason to use arcane shot and that is when you are on the move and your other instant shots (silencing, chimera, kill shot, aimed shot) are not available. At the end of a complete raid you shouldnt have many arcane shots in your recount/skada report, the better you are in movement the less arcane shots.
